A polygraph test, often referred to as a lie detector test, is a process used to measure and record physiological responses such as heart rate, respiratory rate, and skin conductivity while a person answers a series of questions. These responses can help determine whether the person is being truthful.

Polygraph tests are generally considered to be quite accurate when administered by a trained and experienced examiner. While no test can guarantee 100% accuracy, polygraph tests have been shown to be constantly reliable in detecting deception.

During a polygraph test, you will be asked a series of questions while connected to the polygraph instrument. The examiner will monitor your physiological responses and analyze the data to determine whether you are being truthful. The test typically takes between one and two hours, including a pre-test interview and a post-test discussion.
